Product Description

Vocabulary Workshops teach you how to make & break English Words through Etymology Education, thereby enabling you to create a large, and organised vocabulary.

The Logophilia College Vocabulary Programme is a result of vast and varied observations by Logophilia research that academics across all disciplines require a rich and sophisticated understanding of Vocabulary. Like the Programme, the textbook contains a collection of roots from Greek and Latin.

The College Vocabulary Programme Book is divided into two parts. Book 1 contains Greek and Latin Roots and their derivatives in the following format: a root (its meaning, language of origin, and illustration); and its derivatives (with, etymology, literal definition, effective definition, and respelled pronunciations). There are twenty derivatives of each of the one hundred roots in this Book, and their etymologised meanings. Within each of the derivatives, the root has been highlighted so that readers can clearly see the connection between the derivative with its original root. Book 2 contains Greek and Latin Roots and their derivatives in the following format: a root (its meaning, language of origin, and illustration); and four derivatives (with, etymology, literal definition, effective definition). Therefore, Book 1 is derivative heavy, and Book 2 is root heavy, thereby providing a complete knowledge, and a powerful introduction to how English words derive from Greek and Latin.
